From the sparkling waters of the Barrier Reef to the quiet Queensland corner of St George, just over 500km west of Brisbane, your state orchestra is ‘hitting the road’. We are excited to share with you the remarkable initiative to take Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) to the regions, with our five-year Regional Touring Program (2024 – 2028).

The Regional Touring Program is a bold and transformative initiative with potential to transform the hearts and minds of Queenslanders for decades. With over half of Queensland’s population (5,559,285) living outside of the greater Brisbane area (ABS: 2021), the benefits we can offer to families and communities will be life changing. QSO’s multi-stakeholder strategy ensures the mayors, regional councils and economic development agencies are all on board – we partner with local councils to provide a unique and unified approach for each region.
